Film Technique and effect of Tybalts car overturning
- slow motion inside the car as it flips ~ makes it more dramatic and emphasises this is a bad crash
- sound effect of music stops. We just hear clanking around the car ~ when music stops it’s like the audience is holding their breath. More shocking
- modicum shot and mid angle of gun skidding from Tybalts car to the foreground ~ we know Tybalt is defenceless. Makes the only fun in the scene take on importance
Film Technique and effect of Romeo doesn’t hesitate for a second in contrast to Tybalts slow motion even after collision then gets out of car and charges straight over
- medium shot of both Romeo and Tybalt on the move ~ let’s us see they both notice the gun at the same time and are racing for it. Romeo’s face is still full of violence while Tybalt is driven but the need to survive
- medium shot with Tybalts hand I foreground snatching up gun with Romeo charging for it in background, a split second before Romeo slams his hand down ~ we know this action means the boys are now standing together there will be face to face confrontation. Audience excited to see what will happen.

- costume-Romeo is wearing his shirt soaked with mercurials blood ~ keeps audience focused on why Romeo is hysterical
Film Technique and effect of just when Tybalts about to fire, Romeo grabs the gun barrel and kneels forcing the gun to his own head
Close up of Romeos face screaming and crying ~ he tells Tybalt that one of them must did and he doesn’t seem to care who it is. This shot legs us see he absolutely means it.

- quick cut to Juliet and back to Tybalt taking final bullet ~ consequences

- sound effect of total sudden silence then just the splash of water ~ silence is rare ins film and it allowed the shock to resonate in the audience. contrasting with all the previous noise —— but thunder breaks silence
- extreme close up of romeos eyes move slowly out to a close up. Usually long time to hold onto this shot (25secs) ~ reality hits Romeo rage to shock to horror as it slowly becomes clear to him
- camera tilt close up down his body to the gun ~ barely holding it, like alien to him, can’t believe he used it.
- sound effect of heavy clatter as fun hits ground ~ weight of it reflects seriousness/consequences

- high angle medium shot of Romeo yelling at sky ~ anger with god/fate/destiny implied. He yells about being a helpless part of fates plans
- long shot high angle looking down on Romeo with head and arms of Christ statue ~ it’s like god is looking down in him. We can see Romeo is completely alone and looks small and insignificant in gods great plan
