childrens hearing system
to prevent criminal behaviour
children may be referred to CHS. Hearing will be set up here they discuss plan of action to prevent worse behaviour
a child may be placed on a supervision order and required to complete a behavioural program or anger programme
to protect vulnerable children
if a child is showing signs of neglect or abuse , CHS can discuss how to support child by working with things like social workers
if a child is in dangerous, the CHS can remove that child and place them in foster care

courts will listen to evidence and reach a conclusion of guilty or not guilty
the high court can sentence people to life in prison

everyone in the UK is considered innocent until proven guilty. This means you’re entitled to a defence lawyer even if you can’t afford one this ensures a fair trial

the perpetrator will be forced to pay money to the court. A person’s circumstances will be taken into consideration when setting the amount
the sheriff Court can issue a fine of up to £10,000

courts can issue a custodial sentence if the person is considered a threat to society. This is effective because it removes dangerous people from the streets and reassures the public they can safely go about their business
