What are the characteristics of acquisitive criminals?
- seek access to criminal activity for pleasure / thrill
- formal motivation / cause for their crimes
- intelligence / economic reasons behind the commission of the crime
What are the characteristics of terrorists?
- non combatant civilians
- acting from a place of perceived injustice / wrong against a person
- motivated by politically / economically triggered issues of the day
- evoke a rationalisation of causes pursued by acts of violence
- illogical perceptions of the truth of involved events
- potential psychological defect producing errant behaviours such as schizophrenia / paranoia

information is based on incidents reported to the police or when police observe an offence

deceit or manipulation with purpose of converting property / services of others
e.g. embezzlement, fraud, bribery

actions that threaten or cause actual personal harm
e.g. murder, assault, kidnapping
