Hot scene: A hot scene is an incident in progress, victims can be in imminent danger. Scene is NOT safe and can sometimes involve gun shots.
Cold Scene: A cold scene is an incident that has already occured, suspects have left the area and the scene is now safe.

What is a Reconnoitered crime?
This is where the criminal has obtained information on the victim. Often it can be done thru domestic workers, gardeners and other employees. The criminal will often see the routes the victim travels on, what time they arrive home and when. All the details are planned out before-hand.
What is a Follow-Home crime?
Follow-Home is when the criminal follows the victim on route(s) towards their destination. This can be done by frequenting in up-market areas, persons who drive fancy cars and who could own expensive jewelry…they are unsure of valuables on hand.
What is an Opportunistic crime?
This type of crime can occur after the criminal has been in the area for a certain amount of time and see’s the victim in a vulnerable situation. Ex: often due to negligence of the victim with a unlocked door, open window, security door open, walking alone, in the park, car parked in street.
