Any place an offender has been or had contact with in relation to an offence.
WHAT IS THE SCENE EXAMINATION PROCESS
- Conduct a reconnaissance

WHAT IS A RECONNAISSANCE AND IT’S PURPOSE
-A preliminary inspection/survey to get an overall picture of the scene without disturbing evidence
- formulate reconstruction
- formulate appreciation
- Formulate A plan of action
WHAT IS THE HOT ZONE
The area of the scene requiring examination and evidence collection.
WHAT IS THE WARM ZONE
A transition zone to enable scene examiners to put on and take off protective clothing, access equipment and process exhibits.
WHAT IS THE COLD ZONE
A place within the outter cordon for meetings meals and scene guards.

Scene: freeze, control, preserve,set path, boundaries.
Witnesses: separate, contain, preliminary interview
Suspects: separate, contain, preliminary search, note demeanor, consider preliminary interview, record comments
