Why did the plotters plan to kill the king?
Many of his advisers were anti-catholic leading to anti-catholic laws being passed which restricted the plotters and they were not happy

What did they plan to do?
Blow up the king and his entire parliament however the plan was foiled and they were all arrested and killed
What happened to Guy Fawkes?
He was tortured until he gave up the names of the other plotters and was then killed after signing a confession
What happens when someone is hung-drawn-quartered?
They are hung until nearly dead, their bowels are cut out and then their body is cut up and sent out across the country as a warning to others
Why were the plotters punished so harshly?
They were committing a crime against God as the king was protected by ‘divine right’ and it sent a warning to squash other possible uprisings
