What does crime mean?
An action that breaks the law.
What is a crime hotspot?
A crime hotspot is an area where a lot of crimes occur for a particular reason.
What is a crime generator?
It’s something that presents an opportunity for a crime to take place.
What are cul-de-sacs?
The are dead end roads, that reduce crime, because they make criminals have to turn back once they reach the dead end.
What is defensible space?
It is a space that clearly states that a particular part of land is someone’s property. It reduces crime by, making the criminal more obvious when invading someone else’s property.
Why are community police helpful?
Because they know they area they are governing well, and so they know about dodgy areas etc.
Why are natural surveillance houses useful?
Because they help reduce crime. This is because all the houses on that street are designed so that everywhere can be seen from somewhere.
What are other methods of designing out crime?
