To anticipate contingencies and the various actions that may be required.
Example:
-Brief crew thoroughly establishing a team concept for the flight
- Stay “ahead of the curve” in preparing for planned situations or contingencies
- Seek information and direction from others
What is the “CREW COORDINATION” skill in CRM?
To identify and actively support the experience and knowledge of others.
Example:
- Partner with fellow crewmembers to ensure all duties are completed
- Show sensitivity to other crewmembers personalities and styles
- Use appropriate techniques to manage interpersonal and operational conflict
What is the “WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT” skill in CRM?
To prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately and assume additional responsibilities when circumstances call for it.
Example:
-Distrribuate tasks to maximize efficiency
- Prioritize tasks for effective accomplishments
- Manage time for accomplishing task
What is the “SITUATIONAL AWARENESS” skill in CRM?
To seek perspective of others and confirm understanding to maintain a shared level of situational awareness.
Example:
- Continually monitor your environment
- Prevent nonessential factors from distracting attention from task
- Recognize fatigue, stress and overload in self and others
What is the “COMMUNICATION” skill in CRM?
To exhibit a positive attitude by acknowledging individuals and express interest in the success of the crew
Example:
- Exchanging timely information in a personable way
- Provide and accept constructive feedback
- Offer, or asset with appropriate level of persistence, your prespective when safety would be enhanced
- Validate facts rather than conclusions
What is the “DECISION MAKING” skill in CRM?
To be familiar with procedures and account for any deviations. Verbalize plans/decisions clearly to other crewmembers
Example:
- Collaborate with crewmembers when making a decision
- Select best course of action by considering all options and outcomes
- Refer to OBM to validate correct use of standards and procedures
