Creative writing (Villain) Flashcards
Paragraph 1 (setting)
As the night deepened, I gradually drifted into a long-awaited peaceful sleep.
I was sprawling over my bed when suddenly my phone lit up; the brightness engulfed the room like the stars in the night sky. The abrupt vibration pierced the tranquillity of my room, awakening me. It was a call from an unknown number. I wondered who would possibly call me so late in the night. I declined the call and turned around, preserving the serenity of my room.
Paragraph 2 (Answering the call)
Almost immediately after, there was another dent in the quiet of my room. Another BZZZ! Erupted from the bedside table. I hesitantly answered the call, driven only by pure curiosity; I wanted to unveil their mysterious identity. To my surprise I have a frantic voice of a woman - a woman who requested babysitting.
Paragraph 3 (Offered £10,000)
“Sorry, who are you, and how did you get my number?” I asked. She replied that she was my distant cousin. Then she got straight back to her point. She wanted me to babysit her three-year-old son. I told her kindly that I didn’t work at weekends but what she said after that made my jaw drop. She offered £10,000 for the night. I found myself stumbling over my own words. This was more than a month’s wage; I said yes without thinking.
Paragraph 4 (Basement)
She gave me an address and a list of rules, but one of the rules stood out the most: ‘Do not open the basement’. As she uttered those words, I felt a palpable anxiety, even through the phone line. An intense sense of foreboding washed over me.
However, I had no choice.
Paragraph 5 (Journey)
I scrambled out of my apartment and got into my car. I navigated through the tight meandering city street packed with branches poking out like bear claws – and finally reached the end of the treacherous road. My eyes met a silhouette of a mansion, covering the moonlit sky. A flood of doubt washed through my guts.
Paragraph 6 (Fear)
Each step nearer the building raised my blood pressure; sweat drenched my shirts; hands clammy. I risked my sanity and safety with only the thought of the cash buzzing me forward.
Paragraph 7 (Description of woman)
As I neared the mansion, a voice—a familiar, yet chilling tone—cut through the silence. I turned to see a tall, spectral woman emerging from the darkness. Her malevolent eyes glowed with an unsettling intensity, and her tangled hair and ashen skin absorbed every scrap of light. Despite the terror that gripped me, I felt inexplicably drawn to her, as if an invisible force commanded my attention.
Paragraph 8 (Receiving money)
She moved toward the door, and I followed, compelled. With trembling hands, I reached out to shake her gnarled, bony hand. In a cold, mechanical voice, she informed me that the child was upstairs. Without further delay, she released my wrist and placed a soiled sack of cash on the doorstep. The heavy thud as the money hit the ground broke our eerie connection. Without a backward glance, she melted back into the shadows.
Paragraph 9 (Escape)
I stood frozen, watching her disappear, the mansion’s oppressive silence pressing in on me. The sack of cash lay there, beckoning with its weight and promise. Without a moment’s hesitation, I bent down, grabbed the bundle, and sprinted back to my car. The engine roared to life as I sped away through the twisting streets, a mix of adrenaline and dark satisfaction surging through me.
Paragraph 10 (Villain)
Glancing into the rear-view mirror, I saw my reflection—a man whose eyes now held a sinister gleam and whose lips curled into a smile born of betrayal. With every mile that passed, the money in my pocket reminded me not only of the wealth I’d acquired but also of the irrevocable line I had crossed. I wasn’t merely a desperate soul chasing a windfall; I was a villain, a sinner who had willingly embraced darkness in exchange for greed. The road ahead promised no redemption, only the haunting echo of my own treachery.
