Q

Model of creative intelligence

A

1.) Problem Sensitivity-sensing of problems, issues, opportunities
2.) Problem Restricting ability- a new understanding of the problem that facilitates interesting new approaches, divergent thinking, search for alternative approached and solutions

Can go to two parts after this
3a.) Fluency- ability to generate many responses to the probelm
3b.) Flexibility- ability to generate a wide variety of responses to the problem

Then goes to

4.) Originality - ability to come up with novel, unique, yet appropriate solutions
5.) CAUSE and CONSEQUENCE GUESSING Ability
6.) ELABORATION of idea, approach, or solutions

Q

Attribute Listening and Morphological Analysis

A

-breaking the problem into smaller bits and seeing what can be discovered
-to ensure all possible aspects are covered

list the dimensions of the product or problem -> generate a list of attributes under each one of the dimensions -> take combination of attributes as stimuli for the new ideas

Synectics-Use of Proverbs

A

-Use of proverbs to stimulate ideas and generate multiple alternatives
-list meanings/associations/ideas that trigger from the proverb
-Based on the ideas generated from the proverb, make associations to the problem at hand

-problem: increasing the market penetration for a product
-proverb: good fences make good neighbors

-Ideation: fences are pretty structures to have, boundaries are essential, better to be careful than sorry, the power of the visual, a little distance is a good thing, not everyone thinks alike
