A
1.Get interest with fun intro. know the movements in reverse if you are facing the group. Have stopping signal 2.Use poly spots or lines on the floor for student placement 3.Use verbal cues-may use counts but word cues are good, not alway rt. or lt. but instead go this way then that way. 4.Explain and Demo. w/out music first and then add music, break the dance down into small sections, start easier and then add challenges 5.music with a strong slower beat- get faster as you progress and mirrors are not advised 6.Prevent negative behavior and questions and change partners throughout the lesson

• Have students sit while demonstrating without their equipment in hand • Progress from individual to partner to group activity • Have dance and cues memorized before you teach. • Prepare for less or more if needed to fill time. • Practice with music system before you teach. • Always close with key concepts that the students have learned.
