The right not to be held in prison without first being charged with the specific crime

Principle by which the powers of government are divided among separate branches
Summarize the strengths and weaknesses of the articles of Confederation
Weaknesses were that there were conflicts between states, no power to tax, other nations could take advantage, and no regulated trade. Strengths were that each state had a vote and there were strong state governments
What kind of legislature did the Constitution creates? Why?
The Congress made of Senate and House of Representatives made for a more organized government
How did the Constitution build on the early experience of Americans
It modeled after Parliament, previous documents defined government power (example Mayflower compact), and avoided abuses by the king

The compromise was where there ended up being two houses including the House of Representatives (Virginia plan) and the Senate (New Jersey plan)
