CONTRALATERAL AXIAL ROTATION of the craniocervical region
SCALENES BILATERAL CONTRACTION (SCALENUS ANTERIOR):
FLEXION (limited moment arm)
SCALENES UNILATERAL CONTRACTION:
IPSILATERAL LATERAL FLEXION of the craniocervical region
IPSILATERAL AXIAL ROTATION of the craniocervical region
* bilateral and vertical stability to the middle and lower cervical spine
