Cranial Scans LV Flashcards
Describe Cranial Scan for Standard Lymphatic Row
Perform Scan 1 Finger Width Superior To the Superior Temporal Line - palpation is inferior and lateral and perpendicular to STL
Describe Cranial Scan for Visceral Lymphatic Scan
Perform Scan 1/2 Finger width superior to the STL- scan begins behind coronal suture, and palpation is inferior and lateral and anterior
Describe the Cranial Scan for the Epidural Venous Plexus
Perform scan 1/2 way between sagittal suture and STL in an inferior and lateral direction. Posterior to Anterior bias suggest dysfunction to a posterior structure and Anterior to Posterior Bias suggest dysfunction to an anterior structure. SCAN BEGINS at the mid frontal ridge and ends posterior to the ear ( flat part of skull prior to curve).
Describe Cranial Scan for Spinal Medullary/Sub Arachnoid Vein Row
Perform scan 1/2 way between the sagittal suture and STL in an anterior to posterior direction. Scan starts at the mid frontal ridge and follows curvature of skull.
Describe the Cranial Scan for Spinal Veins - Flexion (SVF-LV)
Scan is at the same location as Epidural Venous Plexus ( 1/2 way between sagittal suture and STL) in a posterior to anterior direction beginning at the mid frontal ridge. Ends just prior to curve at posterior skull. Spinal vein flexion tender points are located on the back side of the body
Describe Cranial Scan for Spinal Veins- Extension (SVE-LV)
Scan is at the same location as the standard lymphatic row ( 1 finger width superior to STL) in an anterior to posterior direction that begins at mid frontal ridge. Ends just prior to curve at posterior skull. Spinal vein extension tender points are located on the front side of the body.
Name the Cranial Scans for Lymphatic/Venous System (6)
Standard Lymphatic Row. Visceral Lymphatic. Epidural Venous Plexus. Spinal Medullary/Sub Arachnoid Vein. Spinal Veins Flexion & Extension.
