motor to dorsal oblique muscle of the eyeball
V/Trigeminal, Mandibular
motor to muscles of mastication, sensory to lower jaw region
V/Trangeminal, Maxillary
sensory to upper jaw
V/Trangeminal, Opthalmic
sensory to frontal and eye region
VI/Abducent
motor to lateral rectus and retractor bulbi muscles of the eyeball
VII/Facial
motor to muscles of facial expression, sensory to external ear, special sense of gustation (taste) to rostral 2/3 of tounge
VIII/Vestibulocochlear
special sense of balance (vestibulation); special sense of hearing
IX/Glossopharyngeal
sensory to caudal 1/3 of tongue, special sense of taste to caudal 1/3 of tongue, motor to certain pharyngeal muscles, sensory to pharynx
X/Vagus
motor to certain muscles of pharynx, motor to laryngeal muscles, sensory to pharynx and larynx, parasypathetic to smooth muscle of gut tube (esophagus, stomach, intestines) and lungs and to heart muscles
XI/Spinal Accessory
small contribution to pharyngeal plexus, motor to certain neck muscles (ventral branch to ventral strap muscle and dorsal branch to trapezius)
XII/Hypoglassal
motor to tongue muscles
