What nerves do “hands-on” cranial nerve exam tests?
CN II - CN VIII
A 10 year old female spayed Labrador retriever dog is presented to you with a 4-month history of progressive atrophy of the muscles of the left side of the head/face. On neurologic examination, you find severe atrophy of the left temporalis, masseter and digastricus muscles, as well as decreased nasal sensation and corneal sensation on the left. The remainder of the neurologic examination is normal. The most likely diagnosis is:
Trigeminal nerve sheath tumor
What is the function of cranial nerve VII (facial nerve)?
Motor to the muscles of facial expression
Cranial nerve VI (Abducens) innervates which of the following muscles?
Retractor bulbi
