Analogy

A

It helps the reader understand something that is not very familiar by comparing it to something that is familiar(known very well)

Also it shows how those too things are alike(similar) by comparing them to each other.

Ex: she is blind as a bat(animal)
In this example the girl is compared to a bat.

Anecdote

A

It is a simple, short , interesting story of a real live incident and it tells the reader something about the author.

Ex: One evening, I went to see a movie with my roommate and some other people from our dorm. I drove my car to the theater. Imagine our surprise when we got to the car to find the windshield covered with slices of ham. To this day, I don’t know who put ham on my car or why.
