Steps/Skills
First Step of CPR
Check Responsiveness and breathing before giving compressions
Second Step of CPR
Start compressions within 10 seconds of recognizing the cardiac arrest
Third Step of CPR
Provide Chest compressions of adequate rate (100 - 120 p/m)
Forth Step of CPR
Provide chest compressions of adequate depth: adults: 5 cm, children: 5 cm, infants: 4 cm
Fifth Step of CPR
Allow complete chest recoil after each compression
Sixth Step of CPR
Minimize interruptions in compressions to no more than 10 seconds
Seventh Step of CPR
Avoid excessive ventilation. Give effective breaths that deliver just enough air to make the chest rise

Check pulse/Rise & fall of chest

2 breaths
Apply AED (As soon as it arrives)
First 4 steps of AED
Turn on
Apply Pads
Plug in
Analyze (Clear partner)
3 steps when shock is advised
Clear partner
Press shock button
