Chest compression only
Switches every 2 minutes
What does the ventilator do during CPR
Intubates animal in lateral
Hooks up O2 source
Ventilates
Can switch with compressor
What does the recorder do during CPR
Records EVERYTHING
Assesses entire situation
Times 2 minutes for switching
Leader can do this role if needed
What does the drug handler do during CPR
Places IV catheter
Fills drugs as per leader and communicates to recorder
Also assesses entire situation and available for additional help if needed
What is closed loop communication
Clear, direct comments
Start comment with name of person you are addressing
Person being addressed will repeat back what they heard
You then confirm what they stated
All others can listen and speak up if they hear an error
This method reduces chances of error in a high stress situation
