What are the privileges and limitations of being a CPL holder?
To act as PIC in any operation other than;
- Multi-crew aircraft in an air transport operation.
- An aircraft with MTOW 5700kg+ in an air transport operation if less than 750 hours.
To act as co-pilot in any operation.
What are the requirements for the grant of CPL?
- Passed CPL exams.
- Completed flight training and aircraft rating.
- Passed CPL flight test.
- Completed minimum 200 hours; 100 hours PIC and 20 hours PIC cross country, 10 hours IF with 5 in an aeroplane.

According to Appendix 1, what is the maximum FDP which you can be rostered?
- No longer than 9 hours.
- 8 hours if before 0600 or after 1400 start times.
According to Appendix 1, what is the maximum time your FDP can be extended?
1 hour, only if unforeseen circumstances arises and an extension is necessary to complete the duty and you’re considered fit for extension.
According to Appendix 1, what are the sleep opportunity requirements?
- For away from base, must have 8-consecutive hours of sleep opportunity in a 10 hour period prior to commencing FDP.
- For home base, must have 8-consecutive hours of sleep opportunity in a 12 hour period prior to commencing FDP.

0.02%.

Are you permitted to consume any prescription or over-the-counter drugs before flying an aircraft?
Yes some drugs are allowed, best to speak to DAME when in doubt.

- Airspeed Indicator.

- Must be carried when operating greater than 50nms.
What are the first-aid kit requirements?
- Must be carried onboard the flight
- Must contain enough supplies for all occupants onboard the flight.
- Must be recognisable and accessible.
When must survival equipment be carried onboard during a flight?
- Where the carriage of life rafts is required.
- During operations within or through the remote areas specified by the remote area maps.
- As directed by CASA.
What are the requirements for the carriage of fire-extinguishers?
1 must be carried in cockpit/readily accessible location by crew.
When must life jackets be carried onboard during a flight?
Flight is over water, and at a greater distance from land to reach without an engine.
Where should life jackets be stowed during flight?
Adjacent to each seat, in easy to reach location.
Under what conditions should a life jacket be worn?
Over water outside gliding range, and flying at or below 2000ft AGL.
When must life rafts be carried onboard during a flight?
Flight is over water, and at a greater distance from land to reach without an engine.
Where should life rafts be stowed during flight?
Stowed in readily accessible location, or in a marked container or compartment.
What are the requirements for landing areas and aerodromes?
Pilots Discretion.
Can a GPS be used while navigating VFR?
Yes, but can’t be main means of navigation and must still carry backup paper charts.
