It’s the percentage that we should receive information during the communication process

What are the 4 common barriers to communication?
1) Language barriers

Define conformation bias
A tendency to listen more often to information that confirms our existing beliefs; and to favour information that reinforces the things we already think or believe.
Define Anchoring bias
A tendency to be overly influenced by the first piece of information that we see or hear.
What are examples of Confirmation bias?
1) Only paying attention to information that confirms your beliefs
2) Refusing to listen to the opposing side
3) Not considering all the facts in a logical and rational manner
What are some example/s of an anchoring bias?
First impressions can create an anchoring point that can incorrectly influence our train of thought e.g seeing a heavily tattooed male riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle and immediately assuming he is OMCG (outlaw motorcycle gang)
Empathy can be defined as the ability to

When should batons be used?
- When in danger of being overpowered or to protect yourself or others from injury. Always with reasonable force!!
What does LEPRA 2002 s202 state?
That a police officer must show evidence that they are an officer (unless in uniform). his or her name and place of duty as well as the reason for the arrest.
What does the Evidence Act 1995 (NSW) s 139 (1)(c) state?
That you must caution a person that they do not have to do or say anything but anything they do say or do may be used as evidence in court. . Or else any statements will be deemed improperly obtained.
What does the Evidence Act 1995 (NSW) s 139 (1)(a)state?
That questioning someone who was under arrest at the for offence will be deemed as evidence that has been improperly obtained.
