Method steps 1-4:

  1. Mix the DNA sample with restriction endonuclease enzymes and a loading dye in a beaker.
  2. Prepare the agar and pour it into the electrophoresis mould.
  3. When it is set, fill the electrophoresis tank with a buffer solution.
  4. Use a micropipette to load the restriction ladder into the first well and the DNA samples that have been cut using restriction enzymes into the other wells.

Method steps 5-7:

A
  1. Connect the tank to the electrical supply and turn it on. Leave it on until the dye has moved to the opposite end of the gel tank.
  2. Switch off and disconnect the electrical supply.
  3. Carefully remove the gel from the tank and view the samples under UV light. Take a picture of the results.
