CPA #1 Flashcards
What is the physiologic barrier?
Limit of active motion
What is the elastic range?
Range between the physiologic and Anatomic barrier (end of passive motion)
What is the Anatomic barrier?
Limit imposed by Anatomic structure
What is the restrictive barrier?
Functional limit that abnormally diminishes the normal physiologic range
What is the sagittal plane?
What axis of movement does it have?
It divides the body into right and left, goes down the midline
The body has a transverse axis, so it moves with flexion and extension of the spine (fold over and bend back)
What is the frontal/coronal plane?
What is its associated axis?
The frontal plane divides the body into anterior/posterior.
It has an anterior-posterior axis (runs dorsal to ventral), so the body sidebends
What is the transverse plane?
What axis is associated with it?
It splits in the body into cephalic and caudal regions
It is associated with a sagittal axis, which leads to body rotation
What is the angle for lumbar spine flexion?
40-90 degrees
What is the angle for lumbar spine side bending?
15-30 degrees
What is the angle for lumbar spine extension?
20-45 degrees
What is the angle for rotation of the lumbar spine?
3-18 degrees
What is the angle of cervical spine rotation?
70-90 degrees
What is the angle for C-spine sidebending?
20-45 degrees
What is the angle of C-spine extension?
45-90 degrees
What is the angle for C-spine flexion?
45-90 degrees
What is the angle for elbow flexion?
140-150 degrees
