CP - Midterm 1 Flashcards
introduction
hi my name is dani and i will be your student chiropractor today. Is it alright if i assess you today? please let me know if you experience any pain or discomfort
Components of the prone SIJ series
gapping, flexion, extension, internal rotation, external rotation, P–>A glide, I–>S glide
weight bearing SIJ series
piedau’s, gillets, sacral push
prone lumbar
P–>A glide, rotation, lateral flexion
seated lumbar
quick scan, P–>A glide, rotation, lateral flexion, flexion
6 P–>A landmarks in a postural analysis
achilles tendons, back of the knees, gluteal crease, PSIS, Inferior angle of scap, shoulder rotation, head angle
6 L–>M landmarks in postural analysis (plum line)
plum line: external meatus of ear, shoulder, L3, greater trochanter, knee, malleolus
hypertonic muscles in upper cross (4)
pec maj, levator scap, upper trap, SCM
hypotonic muscles in upper cross (4)
rhomboids, serr ant, deep neck flexors, mid/low trap
hypertonic muscles in lower cross (6)
QL, errector spinae, tensor fascia latae, hip flexors, adductors, piriformis
hypotonic muscles in lower cross (2)
Gmax, abdominals
hypertonic in layered syndrome
C/S erector spinae, upper trap, levator scap, TL erector spinae, Hamstring
hypotonic in layered syndrome
rhomboids, mid/ lower trap, serratus anterior, lumbosacral erector spinae, Gmax
consequences of upper cross syndrome
referred pain to chest, shoulders, arms, TMJ problems and facial pain, inappropriate breathing function, evolution of fibrotic changes and trigger points
consequences of lower cross
ant pelvic tilt, increase lumbar lordosis, decreased trunk/spinal stability, instability at the thoracolumbar junction
consequences of layer syndrome
loss of C/S lordosis with chin jut; shoulder elevation and IR with protraction; posterior pelvic tilt
gapping - superior hand
contralateal SIJ
gapping - inferior hand
ipsi lower leg above ankle
gapping - inferior hand action
take to full internal rotation (end range); shake at the end of end ROM
gapping - general listing
“general restriction” of the SIJ
SIJ Extension - inferior hand placement and tissue slack
PSIS; i-s and p-a
SIJ Extension - superior hand
Acetabulum
SIJ Extension - superior hand LOD
s-i, a-p
SIJ Extension - inferior hand LOD
i-s, p-a
SIJ Extension - dynamic listing
extension restriction
SIJ Flexion - superior hand and tissue slack
ischial tuberocity; s-i
