Number of syllables in each line varies, reflecting the speakers train of thought
First stanza uses regular rhyming couplets (reflecting a traditional love poem) but it is disrupted in the second stanza to reflect the disorder brought by the hurricanes- ABAB rhyme scheme is established for the last four lines - love prevails
