Q

explain the three states of matter

A

solid particles are closely packed in a regular pattern and force of attraction between is strong, Liquid particles closely packed but moving around force of attraction is weak ,gas parties are widely spaced and moving around forces of attraction is very weak

Q

properties of graphite

A
  1. graphite is soft due to the layers standing over each other
2.graphite is a good conduction of electricity as each carbon atom is boned to 3 others this means there is 1 delocalised electron to carry the charge through the structure
