When we write the time in French, we don’t use “a.m.” and “p.m.” unlike in English. We use the 24-hour time, e.g. 20h00 would be “8 p.m.” in English. But in spoken French, we often use the “12-hour system” and add “in the morning”, “in the afternoon” , “in the evening” and “at night” to add precision.
