Counterstrain: Positioning & Treatment Flashcards
The PC1 inion is on the inferior nuchal line, just lateral to the inion. What is the treatment position?
F St Ra
The PC2 occiput is on the inferior nuchal line midway between the inion and mastoid. The PC2 occiput is also on the inferior nuchal line within the semispinalis capitis muscle associted with the greater occipital N.
What is the positioning of both?
e-E Sa Ra
The PC2 inion is on the superior or superolateral aspect of the C2 spinous process. It may correlate with the rectus posterior major/minr and obliquus capitis inferior muscle. What is the positioning?
e-E Sa Ra
The PC3 inion is on the inferolateral aspect of the C2 spinous process. IT may correlate with the greater or 3rd occipital nerve, and muscles innervated by the C3 root (middle scalene, longus capitis, longus colli). What is the positioning?
f-F Sa Ra
PC4-8 inion is on the inferolateral aspect of the spinos process of the vertebral number above. (PC4 is inferior to C3). What is the positioning?
e-E Sa Ra
PT1-3 spinous process.
What is the treatment position?
