What is erosion?
A
The wearing away of rocks

What is hydraulic impact?
A
Waves hit the cliff face forcing air into the cracks and joints. Air pressure forces cracks to open further making the rock break

How are waves created?
A
Waves are created by wind blowing over the surface of the sea

What is attrition?
A
Waves making rocks and pebbles rub together.This knock’s off all the sharp edges and they become smooth and round

What is abrasion?
A
Waves that throw rocks against the cliff face which knock particles of rock off. The rocks rub against the sea floor making it smooth

What is solution?
A
Rock which dissolves into sea water
