What is the cosmological argument
Thomas Aquinas made the cosmological argument. It attempts to prove the existence of God by arguing that the universe must have been created by a supreme being because this do not simply come into existence without a cause.
Atheist view on creation story
They would not believe in the creation story as it requires a god and faith which they do not believe in, it also defies science. They rather believe the Big Bang Theory which has evidence supporting it:

They would believe because
Fossils - show the process of development and how races die off when they do not adapt
Vestigial organs - show the adaptation of animals that have organs with no use which must have had a past reason e.g. snakes have pelvis bones which proves that some species uses to have legs, humans have an appendix which shows that we used to rely on plant for food but now eat meat so have evolved.
Liberal christian view on evolution and big bang
They would believe that God caused evolution because when he said everything was good he made it so things can adapt to their environment. They would believe he made the Big Bang happen
Fundamentalist view of creation story
It did happen exactly as it was written in the bible and is the word of god, it took place at the beginning of time - this does not necessarily mean 13.7billion years ago but rather means the time where there was only God. However, young earth creationists would believe it happened just as it was written in the bible but their beginning of time was 10k years ago
Fundamentalist view on big bang and evolution
Both types do not believe in the Big Bang because the creation story was the beginning of the world and not the bang. They also do not believe in evolution because in the bible (which they take literally as the word of god) it says he makes everything in his image - they believe that animals have no soul so therefore we could not have originated from them, he also made everything ‘good’ so therefore animals should not have to evolve to live.

in the beginning - God started creation
the first day - light was created
the second day - the sky was created
the third day - dry land, seas, plants and trees were created
the fourth day - the Sun, Moon and stars were created
the fifth day - creatures that live in the sea and creatures that fly were created
the sixth day - animals that live on the land and finally humans, made in the image of God were created
by day seven - God finished his work of creation and rested, making the seventh day a special holy day
