How does dexamethasone reduce inflammation?

A

Increases syntheiss of lpocortin which inhibits phopholipase A1 and reduced release of arachidonic acid (required for prostaglandin and leukotriene pathways)

Inhibit induction of nitric oxide gene expression by endotoxin and cytokines

Inhibit transcription of cytokines blocking action

Decreasing certain prostaglandins production such as leukotriene
Reudcing macrophage mediated lysosomal contents
Impairing function of macrophages
Increasing catabolism of immunoglobulins
