Coronary Arteries Flashcards
1
Q
Describe the course of the sinoatrial (SA) nodal artery (branch of RCA)
A
- its one of the first branches of the right coronary that encircles the base of the superior vena cava to supply the SA node
2
Q
Describe the course of the atrioventricular (AV) nodal artery (branch of RCA)
A
- Arises from the distal end of the right coronary artery as it forms the posterior interventricular a. on the posterior aspect of the heart
- penetrates the lower aspect of the interatrial septum to supply the AV node
3
Q
Describe the course of the Posterior Interventricular artery (branch of RCA)
A
- its the terminal distribution of the right coronary artery on the diaphragmetic surface of the heart
- forms septal branches that penetrate and supply the POSTERIOR 1/3 of the INTERVENTRICULAR SEPTUM
4
Q
Describe the course of the interventricular artery (branch of LCA)
A
- descends into the anterior interventricular sulcus and supplies:
- Anterior left ventricular wall
- anterior 2/3 of the interventricular septum
- bundle of His (in the IV septum)
5
Q
Describe the course of the circumflex artery (branch of the LCA)
A
- goes around left border of the heart and supplies:
- the left border of the left ventricle
- posterior-inferior aspectof the left ventricular wall
