Coronary Arteries Flashcards
At what part during the cardiac cycle does most of the coronary artery antegrade flow occur?
Early ventricular diastole
When does blood from the Aorta fill the coronary arteries?
During ventricular diastole, when the AV is closed.
During ventricular systole, AV is open and the cusps cover the openings to the arteries
Increased HR (reduces or increases) the duration of ventricular diastole, and therefore (reduces or increases) forward flow in the coronary arteries
Reduces, reduces
What does the RCA supply?
Both atria
IAS
RV free wall
RV apex
Posteromedial pap muscle
What branches off of the RCA in 80% of people? What about the other 20%?
PDA in 80%
PDA originates off the LCx in the other 20%
What does the PDA supply?
Inferior IVS
Inferior LV wall
What does the LCA branch into
LAD and LCX
What do LAD and LCX both supply?
Anterolateral pap muscle
What does LAD supply?
Anterior septal wall
Anterior LV wall
LV apex
What does LCX supply?
Inferolateral LV wall
Anterolateral LV wall
