- Ideologies e.g Liberalism/Socialism advocated equality/social justice for all, but have perpetuated patriarchal values/attitudes + done little to end gender discrimination.
- Agrees with Liberalism, Socialism and Radicalism (belief in equality, progress, rationalism), but have neglected female equality

A
- Women constitute a spare workforce that can be called on as and when needed by capitalism.

What do Feminists mean by ‘Cultural feminism’?
A
- A form of difference feminism that challenges the dominance of male culture in society, instead seeking to promote ‘women’s values’.

What do feminists mean by ‘otherness’?
A
- Women were considered to be fundamentally different from men, who were seen as the ‘norm’, and women deviants from this norm.

What are the base goals of liberal feminists?
A
- Legal/political equality/rights for all individuals in order to compete on equal terms with men in the public sphere – business, culture, media, politics etc.

What are the base goals for Socialist Feminists?
A
- Economic/social equality. Capitalism creates patriarchy. Economic power should be shared – equal ownership of property, end to pay differentials, the distinction between waged and unwaged labour.

What are the base goals of Radical Feminists?
A
- Equality within the family/social lifestyle – childcare, domestic work, reproduction, sexual fulfillment; emphasis on lifestyle politics. Gender is the main division within society.

A
- Patriarchy manifests itself in different ways depending on women’s ethnicity, social class, age, disability etc. Feminism must be for all women.
