What are the basic vegetable ingredients of Coq au Vin?
Garlic, cremini mushrooms, carrots, russet potatoes, curly parseley, rosemary, bay leaf, zucchini
What are the other non-vegetable ingredients of Coq au vin?
Bacon, Chicken, chicken stock, red wine, butter and flour
How is the bacon and chicken prepped?
4 slices of bacon are chopped and the chicken is cut into 8 pieces
What is the first step?
render bacon in dutch oven on stove until crispy
Second step?
Remove bacon, season chicken with S&P and brown in dutch oven
Third step?
add 10 crushed garlic, 1 diced white onion, 1 cup quarted mushrooms, 2 small carrots half inch dice, 2 potatoes half inch dice, 4 sprigs rosemary, 2 bay leaves, 1 bunch parseley, 1 Btl red wine, 2 cups chicken stock
Fouth step?
Season with salt, bring to boil, place in 400’ oven for 30 mins
Fifth step?
Wisk half cup melted no salt butter with 1/4 cup flour
Sixth step?
Return dutch oven to medium high stovetop and stir in butter mixture and 3 zucchinis cut to 1/2 inch dice, cook for 2 mins
Seventh step?
serve with chopped parseley
