Q

what happens in concentration

A

concentration mills crush and grind ore into fine particles, mix them with wate, chemicals, and filter and dry-copper concentrate is about 25% copper

Q

what happens in refining

A

purified copper is treated at refineries to make it 99.99 pure copper-after this, little weight loss occurs so proximity to mines, concentration mills, and smelters is less critical
