A

In Facial GI the three ligands are adjacent to each other unlike Meridonial.

Both sets are Optically Inactive as they have 2 identical pairs in each set

There can be 4 sets possible here
1.{AA, AB, CD}
2.{AA, AC, BD}
3.{AA, AD, BC}
4.{AB, AC, AD}
So there are 4 GI POSSIBLE
ONLY 4th Set is Optically Active

Total no. of stereo isomers = No. Of Optically inactive compounds + 2 × No. Of Optically active compounds = 3 + 2 × 1 = 5
So, 5 stereo isomers are present

How to check Optical Isomers when CN is 6 for Bidendate ligand?

A
  1. Make a mirror image. If the image is non super impossible then OPTICALLY ACTIVE.
    OR
  2. If POS is absent then OPTICALLY ACTIVE and vice versa.
