Cooktops Flashcards
Cooktops
Choice of gas, electric, and induction
What sizes do the cooktops come in
Gas and Induction: 24” 30” and 36”
Electric: 30” and 36”
What installations are there for cooktops?
Transitional, Contemporary, and Professional
How many burners are on the gas cooktop
24” - 3
30” - 4
36” - 5
How many zones are on the electric cooktop
30” - 4
36” - 5
How many zones are on the induction cooktop
24” - 3
30” - 4
36” - 5
What is the difference between induction vs electric
Induction: the pot becomes the heat source by creating a magnetic current with the induction cooktop.
Electric: electrical currents are forced through the coils and that heats up the pot. The cooktop becomes the heat source.
Cleaning induction vs electric
Induction is easier to clean than electric because only the pot is being heated. therefore the surrounding area won’t become hot. When something splatters it will hit a cold surface. It does not have the option to bake onto the cooking surface
What is the BTU output of the gas cooktop
1 - 18,000
1 - 12,000
3 - 9,200
Features of electric cooktop
True simmer, one touch melting, and bridge setting
Can an oven be installed below a cooktop?
Yes it can
Benefits of the Induction
40% faster response, bridge mode, melt option, and can work with cast iron/other magnetic pots
