Convection currents Flashcards
1
Q
What is a convection current?
A
It is when hot air and liquid magma flow causing the tectonic plates to move.
2
Q
Why do the tectonic plates move?
A
Because when heat particles expand they rise pushing down cool particles, thus pushing plates.
3
Q
Why do the convection currents recycle the earths crust.
A
The convection currents move the crust in a divergent manner into the sub-duction zone where it is melted.
