Q

FLT CONTROL SWITCHES 3 positions?

A

STBY RUD -
*activates stby EMPD pump
*Shuts off the HYD System pressure to ELEV, Aileron and rudder, by closing the flight control shutoff valve.
*Opens stby rudder shutoff valve to press stby rudder PCU.
*Deactivate flight control low press light.
*Allows STBY system to power the Rudder and TR.
Illuminate STBY RUD ON, MCaut and Flight controls light.
..

OFF - closes flight control shutoff valve isolating ailerons/elevators/rudder for that system.
ON - normal ops

Q

STBY RUD ON light?
Come on when?

A

Elec motor driven stby pump commanded to press the stby RUD PCU.

1) crew action
2) Hyd A/B system Failure

If not due this, then 2 other reasons:
1) FFM malfunction activating the STBY PUMP
2) Press Diff between two main PCU control valves indicating jammed condition.

16
Q

Why Press the reservoirs?

A

positive fluid flow to all pumps

17
Q

SYS A/B components?
MAx difference?

A

Max 8
LGT Valve - Sys A

Max 9
2 Pos Tail skid - Sys A
PTU - Sys A

18
Q

ENG DRIVEN PUMP OFF?

A

isolates fluid flow from system components only, but pump cont to rotate if engine operates.

19
Q

Pull engine fire switch?

A

shuts off fluid flow to EDP and deactivates LOW PRESS light.

20
Q

Location of Heat exchanger for Sys A/B?

A

A - main fuel tank 1
B - main fuel tank 2

21
Q

Min fuel for ground ops of Elec motor driven pump?

A

760kg in tank

22
Q

What send signals and illuminate Low Press light if pump output press low?

A

Pressure Switches, in engine and electric motor driven pump output lines

23
Q

System A Hyd Leak NG?
MAX?

A

NG
EDP - 20%
MDP - 0%

MAX
EDP - 1/4 or 20%
MDP - 0%

24
Q

Syst B Hyd Leak?

A

NG
Either line - 0%
Sys B one standpipe -fluid remaining enough for PTU.
Leak Sys B - no affect stby system

MAX
Same as NG

25
Q

PTU

A

Supply additional volume of Hyd fluid to operate AUTOSLATS and LEF+SLATS at normal rate - when SYST B EDP is INOP.PTU - System A press to power a HYd MDP to Press sys B fluid.
PTU operates auto when :
*Sys B EDP hyd drops below limits
*airborne
*flap not up

26
Q

LGTU

A

Supply volume of HYD fluid to raise LG normal rate when Sys A EDP volume lost.Sys B pump supplies the volume to operate LGTU when:
*airborne
*Nr 1 Eng RPM below limit
*LG Level UP
*either main LG NOT up/locked

27
Q

Tail skid if 2 position?

A

Sys A

28
Q

STBY HYD SYSTEM operates which systems?

A

Thrust Rev
Rudder
LEF + SLATS (extend)
Stby YD

29
Q

STBY HYD System can be activated how?

A

AUTO and MANUAL

Manual with FLT CONTROL switch or ALT FLAPS Master switch.

Auto conditions

30
Q

How to activate HYD STBY pump manually?

A

FLT CONTROL switch to STBY RUD:
*activate STBY EMDP
*Shuts off HYD SYS press to ail/elev/rud by closing flight control shutoff valve
*opens STBy rudder shutoff valve
*deactivate flight control Low Press light when STBY RUDDER SHUTOFF valve opens
*allows stby system to power RUD/TR
STBY RUN, MCAUT and FLT CONT light

ALT FLAPS Master switch to ARM:
activates stby EMDP
close TEF bypass valve
arms ALT FLAP position switch
allows stby syst to power LEF, slats and TR

31
Q

Automatic Ops of STBY HYD System?

A

When:
*Loss Sys A/B and,
*flaps extended
*airborne/wheel speed >60kts and
*Either FLT CONTROL switch A/B is ON

OR

MAIN PCU FFM Trips
..
Activates stby EMDP
opens STBY RUD shutoff valve
allows stby system power rudder / TR
STBY RUD ON, MC, FLT CONT

32
Q

STBY system LEAK?

A

ZERO, SYS B drops to 70% full

33
Q

LOW quantity light comes on when?

A

50% empty

34
Q

When will you see Variations in HYD quantity Indications?

A

*sys become press after start
*raise/lower LG or LED
*Cold Soak long flight

35
Q

Foaming?

A

Sys not properly PRESS, foaming ay high ALT. Recognized, press fluctuations, blinking of LOW PRESS light.
