Schedule II (C2)
Drugs having an accepted medical use, a high abuse potential.
No refill.
Example: Amphetamines, methadone, opium, Percocet, Ritalin, Fentanyl
Schedule III (CIII)
Drugs having an accepted medical use and abuse potential less than those of schedule 1 and 2.
5 refills.
Examples: Tylenol, Vicodin
Schedule IV (C4)
Drugs having an accepted medical use and an abuse potential less than those listed in schedule 3.
5 refills.
Example: Benzodiazepines, lorazepam, alprazolam, zolpidem, ambien.
Schedule V (C5)
Drugs having an accepted medical use and an abuse potential less than those listed in Schedule 4.
OTC
Example: Lomotil, cough medicine with codeine like Robitussin
Schedule I (C1)
Drugs having no accepted medical use in the United States with a high abuse potential.
Examples: LSD, Crack, Mescaline, Heroine, Marijuana
