What does a ‘spike’ Oestrogen do?
a spike in oestrogen triggers the production of LH which triggers the release of a mature egg (ovulation)
Where is progesterone produced and what does it do?
It is produced by the empty egg follicle, and preserves and maintains the lining of the uterus during the middle part of the cycle.
