Control Systems Flashcards
What needs to be controlled?
Humidity, pressure, temperature, and flow rates.
What two types of control techniques are used?
Feedback and feedforward.
Why are the feedback/forward techniques used?
Feedback response time would be too long.
Feedforward would be too unpredictable.
Balance between the two is required.
Which physical properties does the control system need to balance?
Humidity, pressure, and temperature.
What does the control system do when the FC is shutting down?
Purges water to avoid flooding.
How is flooding monitored?
Using voltage taps distributed through stack.
How are the voltage taps distributed?
Ideally would have one on each cell, but that is too heavy, so they are spread out through stack to monitor small groups.
