A

Plugging

37
Q

How do you know something is wrong with repulper screw?

A

Lose the load, speed switch will trip, lose level in the mc standpipe

38
Q

A

Make sure stock dilution is at 0, shut down the sumps

39
Q

How do you shut down scavapurge?

A

Hit the shutdown button on the face plate

A

Dilution, cut off feed

41
Q

What’s the purpose of dilution water?

A

Dilution

42
Q

What are interlocks on the mill water cooling tower supply pump?

A

Valve has to be open greater than 30%, white water tank level low for 10 min

43
Q

What is the purpose of the water into the repulper?

A

Used to help consistency, amp load, and to covey the stock down the repulper screw

44
Q

What are the interlocks of the reject sorters?

A

Shower water valve must be open, speed low, vibration high, clear white water low pressure pump

45
Q

If you lose reject flow how do you get it back?

A

Open reject, close back accepts until pressure equalizes (if all else fails start/stop pump)

46
Q

Why would you thicken up while pulling broke while paper machine is down?

A

To use more water so you aren’t overflowing the chests

47
Q

Why does it trip out at low level?

A

At a certain point the blade on the agitator came out of the water

48
Q

How would you react to the secondary reverse cleaner standpipe over flowing?

A

Turn the bypass on and start/stop the pump. Due to cavitation of the pump

49
Q

If you can’t get a start on the conveyor what are the possible causes?

A

Pulped not running, rotor no turning, hydraulics on cutter, pulper high level, overloaded conveyor, e stop, breaker on conveyor

50
Q

How to start the scavapurge?

A

Must hit scavapurge, then start button

51
Q

What’s the purpose of the pause/play button?

A

Pause hold it right where it’s at. Play- normal operation

52
Q

How do you know when to do an offline cleaning for the petax?

A

Feed pressure gets high

53
Q

What would kick out the agitator?

A

Low level

54
Q

What the proper way to cut back the feed?

A

Cut feed to primary reverse first, accept from primary reverse second (vice versa to add flow back)

55
Q

What are potential causes of low load on the hydra purge?

A

It could be plugged, rotor is off

56
Q

How do you empty the pulper out?

A

Turn on bypass

57
Q

What’s a permissive on the screens?

A

Must have seal water to start, once pump starts seal water shuts off

58
Q

What should the dilution valve position on the fru’s prior to start up?

A

30% or less

59
Q

How does the temperature control loop work?

A

Temp drops - flow goes to basin.

Temp rises - flow goes through tower and fans turn on

60
Q

How and when to force a regin

A

High hardness, change total gallon flow, or advance softener steps

61
Q

What direction does the water flow between chest?

A

Clear to dirty

Clear - gray - course

62
Q

What are reasons your cleaner pumps won’t start?

A

Breaker, dcs switch, gray water valve closed

63
Q

What are ways to dilute the fine screens if the DP or load gets high

A

Cut back on accepts from course screens, pulling more gray water, open up the dilution going to primary course

64
Q

What can be a common cause of the scavenger sequence interrupting?

A

A valve has timed out trying to open/close (valve hung up)

65
Q

Reasons for running dlk?

A

Clean the system out, helps through put

66
Q

Why is it important to notify inbound before starting conveyor?

A

So a gap doesn’t form on the line, safety concern for inbound techs

67
Q

What is the theory of the clarifier?

A

Recycled water is taken from the clarifier and pumped through the recirculation pump to the ADT where it is mixed with air and sent back through the feed line that mixes with polymers which makes stock stick together and floats up by air bubbles. A rotating spiral scoop takes sludge off the top and lets it slide to the center ring to the screw presses. The drain blows down sand to the screw presses and the clarified water goes to the gray chest

68
Q

Describe how the primary reverse cleaners work?

A

Feed comes in towards the middle, centrifugal force develops a separation and the accepts go out the bottom and the rejects go out the top

69
Q

Respond to a broken ragged tail what are the steps to starting a new tail?

A

Make pull rope and ragged rope, put barriers in place and turn warning light on, pull any ragged tail left in ragged drum, hook pull rope to winch, lower to pull broken ragged tail all the way out, hook ragged to winch and lower to start new tail

70
Q

What is the proper PPE for power washing

A

Goggles, face shield with chin guard, apron, steel toe boots, metatarsals, and gloves

71
Q

What’s the general purpose of the disc thickener?
