1. Read Physician Orders and gather equipment
2. Wash / Gel Hands and apply appropriate PPE
3. Identify Patient
4. Attaches circuit, filters, and humidification systems as needed
5. Performs required testing for vent, enters correct or appropriate vent settings
6. connects vent to patient, sets appropriate alarms
7. Performs vent round and assesses patient parameters including airway, VS and BS, assures patient is tolerant of vent and make necessary adjustments
8. Draw ABG if indicated
9. Cleans area, washes / gels hand and thanks family
