When you’re developing an argument, you will often need to present contrasting or opposing opinions or evidence.

To introduce a point that disagrees with what you’ve just said.

To introduce a contrasting interpretation of the same piece of evidence, a different piece of evidence that suggests something else, or opposing opinion.
” I’d like to eat out, but on the other hand, I should be trying to save money.’
————– HAVING SAID THAT ——————–
It is used to say something which will contrast or disagree with what was said a moment ago.
“that was tough but, having said that, I think it’s taught us all a lesson.”

Use this when you want to make your opinion seem balanced.
“Although reports suggest that cigarettes could help people to lose weight, there are too many serious health problems associated with smoking.”
