To distinguish areas of anatomy during the imaging process, Enhancing the visibility of vascular structures and organs during radiographic procedures

- Injected into blood vessels (through the veins in the antecubital fossa)

What happens to contrast media after imaging?
A
- if injected it is excreted through the urine
- if given orally or rectally, it is excreted through bowel movements
