acute injury or inflammation, impaired sensation (therapist to assist), cancer/tumor/undiagnosed pain, cardiac disease (advanced or acute), pregnancy, bleeding tendencies, infection in area, early stages of tendon repair or tenolysis, impaired cognition - unreliable in self report.
