​recently applied liniments or sports rubs
​moderate to severe peripheral vascular disease (distal 1/3rd of leg only) **

• myositis ossificans (if treating quads or brachialis/biceps)
• over sites of insulin injections (diabetic patient only)
• over unhealed fracture sites (thermal only)
• epiphysis of growth plates (ages 0-18 yrs)
• over spinal cord —post laminectomy
• cemented prostheses (some total hips)
