Adrenaline - 1
There are no absolute contraindications for adrenaline
Amiodarone - 2
No contraindications in cardiac arrest
Not compatible with Saline (if infusion dose is advocated by a specifically authorised person)
Aspirin - 2
Known hypersensitivity to aspirin / salicylates.
Children < 12 years of age.
Atropine Sulphate - 3
Known hypersensitivity.
Third-degree atrioventricular (AV) block.
Patients with cardiac transplant.
Cophenylcaine - 3
Hypersensitivity to phenylephrine, lignocaine or other anaesthetics
Children <2yrs
Pregnancy
Fentanyl - 4
Hypersensitivity to Fentanyl
Less than 1 year of age (IV / IO only)
Occluded nasal passages or epistaxis (intranasal only)
Imminent birth, or expected birth within 2 hours
Glucagon - 2
Hypersensitivity.
Known pheochromocytoma
Glucose 10% (Intravenous) - 1
Not to be used if there is no patent IV access

Disturbed and abnormal behaviour CLEARLY not RASS 4 for first line agent choice
Non traumatic pain (IM / IV / IO)
Age <1 Year of age

Methoxyflurane - 4
Patients who are unable to understand or co-operate.
Patients with severe renal impairment.
Patients with head injury and altered consciousness that prevents co-operation with its use.
Hypersensitivity e.g. malignant hyperthermia

Paracetamol - 3
Known hypersensitivity to Paracetamol.
Do not give if patient has had Paracetamol in the preceding 4 hours.
Cannot exceed the maximum allowed single dose or exceed the maximum allowed paracetamol daily dose (24hrs).
Prednisolone - 2
Known hypersensitivity to corticosteroids
Live virus immunisation within last 48 hours (e.g. MMR, Chicken Pox, Yellow Fever)
Salbutamol - 3
Known hypersensitivity to salbutamol
Cardiogenic pulmonary oedema
Age <12 months
Tranexamic Acid - 2
Known hypersensitivity to Tranexamic Acid.
Injury time more than 3 hours (associated with increase in mortality).
Droperidol - 4
Known allergy
Known Parkinson’s Disease
Where Ketamine has been administered to sedate this episode
